Default Aux Input Problems

Just installed my new Alpine last night. Everthing works great but the Aux Input. I bought the Ai-NET RCA adapter with it, bought a cord with RCA connects on one end, and a mini jack on the other so I could play my MP3 player. From what I've read (manual is not very discrptive about aux inputs, and alpines website isn't much better) once the adapter is plugged in to the HU with an external source (mp3 player) it should display an AUX choice in the source menu of the HU. I have nothing, I can only select Tuner or CD. AUX does not display as a choice. I tood the HU out again to double check that the adapter was connected correctly and that the cord was connected via RCA conections, and it was. Aslo, the AUX IN function is On in the head unit....I'm confused. Any thoughts??

Edit: Never mind. I reread your post and noticed that you did enable Aux In.

check that the switch on the BOTTOM of the head unit is in the correct position for an aux input. Check your manual for details.

Yes this switch is on eq/div. I just relized that when the volume is real low while having the source set to tuner or CD, I can hear the MP3 players music in the background!! When I turn the volume up a bit, the music from the CD or Tuner (which ever is set) drowns out the background music. Yet there is still no option for AUX in the source. I'm starting to think I've got a defect.

This gets even better...

So I just double checked to make sure the switch was in the right position. As I switched it back to the normal position, then back to the eq/div position, the switch just fell in to the unit!!!

Just called crutchfield, they're sending me a new one....
