Default Aux Plug for stock unit

I'd like a cheap option to play music off of my phone through my stock head unit. I have no interest in upgrading my sounds system. Also, I would like to have the hand controls still in use.
I've done some searching, but can't put my finger on a particular product.
If upgrading to another unit while still being able to use the controls to the left of the steering wheel is a good option, I can look into that too.

Any suggestions?

USA Spec interface will play iPhone and other aux devices. Left hand controls would work as normal. This should do the job. About $140.

PIE HON-AUX

Some of them will even charge the phone while plugged in, an added bonus.

A number of the usual suspects (USA Spec, PAC Audio, PIE, Grom, etc) make such aftermarket interfaces for stock head units.

I have one of these that I justd pulled out of my car if you want to buy it for $25. Just hooks up to 2 of the factory speaker wires if i recall correctly.

How would that work with my android phone when I connect aux and want to change tracks with the left-hand-control-buttons ?

It wouldn't. Nothing connected via Aux is going to offer control. Controls would work for the head unit itself though.

If you want to control and Android device you'd need an aftermarket head unit and ensure that both the device and head unit support AVRCP or that a supported wired connection is available. There may be some aftermarket interfaces that offer control but I don't recall off the top of my head and would have to search same as you.
