Okay, so I've done a lot of searching before I posted this question, as I couldn't find the answer.
My auxiliary socket on my car stopped working. It was previously just being used for a radar detector, so I know the load wasn't anything too crazy on it. I checked all the fuses under the dash that would pertain to the auxiliary socket, and they are all fine. My radio still works fine as well.
I saw people posting about a fuse that is connected to this auxiliary socket that is located in the fuse box under the hood. My fuse box lid in my S2000 does not have a diagram on it describing what each fuse is, and i have misplaced my manual, so I have no way of knowing what fuse does what.
Can someone tell me which fuse # under the hood is connected to my auxiliary socket? I really believe it's just a blown fuse under the hood.
Here's the wiring diagram for the aux. socket. The fuses are #41 [100 amp] and #42 [40 Amp] in the Main underhood fuse box. If fuse #9 [10 Amp. 5th from top in left column of fuses in the box under the drivers side dash] is OK and the radio and everything else is working the problem is probably the wiring to, the relay or the socket itself.
I take it that I should be able to see if the fuses are blown, without removing fuses #41 & #42 from under the hood?
I checked them out earlier today. They seemed to be quite large fuses that were anchored down well. The pieces inside didn't seem to be blown from looking down into the fuses from above. As for the dash fuses, the #9 fuse inside the car is still fine. Nothing blown.
The aux socket worked fine for months, before it recently stopped working. Am I to now to assume that it is the wiring to the relay or the socket itself?

I think you can safely rule out fuses #41 and #42 being bad. If they were a whole lot of other stuff wouldn't be working.
I'm not sure how the socket is constructed and this is probably a stupid question to you but have you looked inside the socket to see if the back of it is all there [like the contact pin that should be in the center of the back of the socket]?
Sorry for the delay in responding... yeah, I visually checked everything in the socket itself and it all looks fine. Even replaced the #9 fuse just in case. The socket is snug too, so it's not like my Honda mechanic described happened to some where the socket would twist around itself shorting it out. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it or the fuses, although it just stopped working one day and now I'm not sure what to do with it.
The only other suggestion I have is to make sure that the relay is working. If it is, I'm afraid you're going to have to bite the bullet and do what "sireousrex" said.
A number of people have had problems with that socket. If you do a search you'll get some ideas on how to get at the back of it.
