Ballast Died, DRL on?

Default Ballast Died, DRL on?
Hey guys, my hid ballast finally gave up on me the other day. And randomly the drl lights are on. My S has never had drl's. Is this some kind of safety feature or something?

Just following up, I replaced the ballast with an OEM one, and the DRL did go away. I guess it's some kind of safety feature the S2000 does if the bulb/ballast is out.
