Default Battery Drain

I just bought and installed a boss bass600 underseat sub. I installed in in the passenger floor board. After the install I tested it and it sounded fine. I went to take it for a drive so I could turn it up a little and the car wouldn't start. I was able to pop the clutch and get it started. I thought maybe having it on for a few minutes without the car on caused the problem (even though it didn't seem right). After driving for a few min I turned the car off and back on again. It hesitated but started. A few minutes later it would turn over so I popped the clutch again and drove again. After that it wouldn't start again so I rechecked all my wiring and redid the ground set up thinking it might not be a good ground. It still drained the battery so i pulled the fuse to remove that circuit from the battery and got a jump to drive home. It seems as though it got a slight charge on the 3 mile drive because when I turned it off and tried to start it again it turned over once but wouldn't start when before it wouldn't even click.

I am thinking that it may have been the distribution block I put on the power cable slightly grounding on the body as it is not mounted securely yet. I gave up for the night and am going to run to my parents tomorrow and charge the battery for a good few hours.

Any thoughts? I am hoping I have isolated the problem. Is there anything else I should check?

On a side note- This little sub packs a nice little punch.
