Default HELP NEEDED - NOW!

I don't believe it, went to go on a long drive and when I pressed the start button there was just clicking and lots of lights on the dashboard flashing.

Presume battery buggered, black indicator on it would agree..

Can't find any jump leads long enough as it is in my garage - went to get a jump start powerpack but they need to be charged for 12-36 hrs before first use..

Got one of those cigarette lighter to cigarette lighter jobs and plugged that in, apparentyl it takes 5 mins and then a green LED comes on to tell you to start it - the green went on as soon as I connected, it should take 5 mins - tried to start but nothing. Left for another 10 mins, still nothing...

Is this definately a battery problem? It was definately very slow starting up 2 weeks back before I eventually got it going?

I am gutted!

Sounds like battery.

You could "borrow" a battery out of another car and carry it to your car to yours to jump it, but it may drain pretty quick if not being charged.

Can't you push your car out the garage so you can jump it with another motor?

Like the idea about removing another battery - I will need to go and get some jumper cables though...

The drive is on a mild incline and I only have me and the missus....

I will try and source some cables - would it bugger the other battery to jump from it once?

The problem is that if you connect 2 batteries in parallel, the "full" one will discharge into the "empty" one, and you might be left with 2 half full batteries with not enough charge to start the car at all.

Not sure how quickly this "equalisation" takes though - worth a try, assuming the S starts first or second time.

It is a new battery on the other one, I will see if it starts after one or two tries and if not will stick it back in the other one and take that for a drive to charge it a bit...

Thanks guys

Well I took back the cigarette thing and got a normal battery charger - will give it an hour on there and try again, otherwise I will leave on overnight and lose a nice day in the sun....
