Battery terminal question
Suppose I want to run 4 gage power to my amps so I install a triple 4 ga battery terminal clamp. What is the best method to attach smaller power lines to an open 4 gage terminal, for example the 10 gage to a head unit?
Do I build up the wire end to make a 4 ga "beehive hairdoo?" Do I run a 4 ga off that terminal into some sort of reduction terminal or soldered-and-shrinkwrapped splice? Is there an off-the-shelf terminal insert to go from 10 ga wire to 4 ga clamp?
Thanks in advance!

this doesn't really answer your question, but if you're using external
amps and turn off the internal amp in your headunit, you shouldn't need
to run a power line for the headunit directly to the battery.
AFAIK, Alpine is the only company that specifies a direct battery connection,
and even then only on their "high power" headunits. The stock radio
harness should provide plenty of current for the headunit if you're not
using its internal amp.
