Thumbs up Beating my head against a wall...

I have searched and searched and can't find what I am really looking for. I know this subject has been beaten to death. But, I really need some opinions to help sway me. Auditioning the subs that I have been considering is difficult since there are so many varying conditions. I can't find a dealer that carries all of the brands.

My system:

Alpine 9831 HU
Alpine KCH-420 iPOD controller
Polk/MOMO 6.5
Soundstream Van Gogh VGA800.5 bridged 200 - front / 400 - sub
factory headrest speakers direct to HU - Only for fill talk radio at speed

The subs that I am considering are all in the $95 -$140 range on ebay or other sources. I don't mind stepping it up a little if it really makes sense.
SQ is far more important than SPL. But, I want to make sure there is enough there to get some reasonable sound at speed. I am going to build an enclosure for the trunk well (without tools) so volume is limited to about 1cf +/-. 12" woofer is the likely choice. But, I am open to any good solution.

Alpine Type R vs. Infinity Kappa Perfect vs. Soundstream VGW-12 vs. maybe an Elemental Designs 13Ov.2 Dual 4

The ED is more expensive though.

Help...Please

I've had my 2 12' infinity kappa perfect subs for 4 years now.

Mind you, they're still sitting in the box brand spanking new.

Haha.

If you can swing a little more money, the Infinity Kappa DVQ is an incredible sub.

Otherwise, its either the Alpine or the Infinity, and in that case, just flip a coin. Both are good quality, good sounding subs.

Thanks for the reply!! I will research pricing on that sub.

The JL 12w3 v2 is pretty reasonable too. $135+/- Gotta consider that one.
