Default best alarm for an s2k?!

Guess my part of town is more ghetto than I thought. My wife's Tracker was broken into...for the second time in a few weeks. First they cut the back "Zippered" window...this time they unzipped it...from the wrong side. To bad there was nothing to steal!

Anyway, got my s2k two days ago and I want to put an alarm on it. What's the best? I'll need a motion sensor. Maybe a silent pager so that I can get out there with my gun in time! Thanks...

There are a few nice alarms. Compustar, DEI Viper, DEI Python, Code Alarm, The old school Alpine's are very nice but hard to come by.

Motion sensored machine gun! Only target those who comes close to your car or within the set range, if not then you can always go back to the old fashioned type and try mouse traps . J/K but I have a compustar with paging remote and it's great though I usually park mine in the garage anyhow. One thing about the compustar (not sure if it's true) but from what I'm hearing is that it's not good to hook up the KNOCK HERE sensor cuz the pager can only pick up one signal at a time, either the KNOCK signal or the alarm. Perhaps Darkknight can explain better, he's the compustar guy.

I would recommend DEI with a DEI 508d prox. I have been using and installing DEI products for 10+ years and have found one bad unit that wasnt install error in that time. If going with the motion sensor make sure your installer adjusts it properly outside. They can give you more headaches then they are worth if they are not properly installed.
I have been using the Clarion UNGO S660 in all of my cars. (made by DEI for Clarion) this is their top of the line alarm without the remote start function. It retails for around $259-$329 with install, depending where you go.
DEI makes a handfull of different versions of this alarm between the Viper, Python and other model lines so it should be a pretty easy one to find.

Not sure if it's true but I'd heard of someone saying something about being able to use a nokia phone to unarm the alarm, again I'm just saying what I'd heard. My bro has a DEI Python paging alarm system and it somehow died on him, still don't know why but now he's thinking of switching alarm system. I'm not saying that DEI is bad alarm, just saying what I'd heard and what I'd experienced.

That would be quite the trick to dis-arm a DEI system with a cell phone.
The only problem I personally have ever seen was the doorlock module going out on a 6 year old Viper that a customer of mine brought into me. which was covered under DEI warranty. Hey, you never know your brother may have a bad unit. If an authorized dealer put it in he shouldnt have anything to worry about seeing as to they have a lifetime warranty.

He got it from (I believe) Ultimate Electronic, also got it installed there as well. They should still have his info in the computer seeing that he'd had it for over 2 years now. As for the lifetime warranty? That I have no idea...
