Best and easiest pair of speakers for S2k...
When you are done with the door speakers you will probably still want more.I added a CD changer, 400w amp and buildt a box to hold a 12in Bass speaker which fits in where spare tire was. I can easily pull it out and set in trunk and replace spare tire for road trips. Will duplicate box for $65 if anyone is interested. Sounds are great. But this wasn't buildt to be a Thumper. I just wanted more volume and quality of sound.

elviscos + Z3toS2K,
First my opinion: My audiophile ears have listened to a plethora of component sets over the years... and I have heard nothing as good as the Dynaudio System 340. First, I do not like the imaging of two-way systems but if you had to do a two way you either get Dyn's component set with 5" or 7" woofers. I have the 3-way with 7" woofers and they require STEEL CUTTING! Even with a homemade 3/4" MDF ring to mount to, you still have to cut steel. If I had to stick to the 5" system, I would go with either Boston Pro 6.5 or MB Quart Q-series...
I have the Boston Pro 6.5^3 3-way in my other car... couldn't justify spending $1200 for a component set for a Ford Focus
I know this thread is for cheap drop-in speakers, but I always have to give Dynaudio/Boston Pro commentary/experience!

I was thinking of getting the Infinity 652i today. I think they are fairly new, and they sound great in the store compared to the Sony's and Polk EX602a that aare similar in price. But no one has mentioned if they have had success installing them. (I first brought this question up in "electronics" a couple weeks ago) Has anyone installed these since? Anyone? Bueller?
vmb,
Just get the basket depth... or if you aren't sure, take a basket with you to the store. If they physically fit and you like their sound, buy them! Seriously, if you want drop in speakers, all that really matters when selecting your brand/style is fitting into the stock basket...

Does anyone know if the Pioneer Ts-1620 II custom fit speakers will drop in the S2000. The Pioneer web page lists other Acura and Honda models up to 1999 but does not mention anything about the S2000 or models from 2000 and beyond.
elviscos,
If you don't want to cut steel for the 7" Dynaudio woofers then go with the Boston Pro 6.5s (if you don't mind a really elaborate install, you should really do a three-way Boston or Dyn)
My Dynaudio 340 set is powered by an Alpine MRV 1507... Second MRV will power a Boston Pro 10 when I finally get the box built...

Thanks Shaner, thats actually what I wanted to do months ago but ran into some different opinion about the boston pro with a really cool well known installer type. Well, still have not heard them so got to rely on others. Its really tough to find this stuff at stores where you can hear them.
