Notable differences between mine (650) and the 660 (above) is that the 660 has:
Bluetooth functionality - Can connect with your cell phone to receive/make calls. Also can call numbers that come up on the Points of Interest lookup.
FM Transmitter - Can output the GPS sound through your car's speakers using a preset radio station.
I chose the 650 because I have heard the Bluetooth in the s2000 and the car is too loud to support anything. The only thing it's good for is to see incoming calls since the car is so loud and I can rarely hear my ringer.
Also, I have no need for the FM transmitter because I intend to hardwire the unit to the car. That includes the power cord AND an external headphone jack that the unit supports. That will go into almost any aftermarket radio and probably sound better than the FM transmitter.
FYI, Costco now has the Garmin 250W on sale for $299!! It's about $499 everywhere else. You just need those coupons that Costco mails to you if you are a member. It's almost the same as the 600 series, except doesn't have Text to Speech (i.e.: reads out the street names, which IMO sound silly anyway). I have that feature turned off on mine.
Using the Nuvi 350 for the past 9 months now. Absolutely love it. Decent battery life and as some have mentioned, Modifry's bracket is spectacular (and inexpensive too!). I had wished i'd have gone with the 600 series for the wider screen, but found out that for the direction of travel on the map, you're always going "up." As a result, if the additional screenspace was in the vertical axis, I could definitely use the extra space, but widescreen wasn't worth the extra $$$ for me. YMMV though.
for Garmin.

Here is what I purchased from Modifry.

That way, it'll look like this: (Pictured is the 300 series)

I still have to get it hardwired to somewhere inside the bezel once I get home from work. That way, I don't have to run a cable from the unit toward my arm to the cigarette lighter by my elbow.
I did not need to purchase an external antenna. The built in one is sufficient enough. I haven't found a place where it couldn't find a satellite.
I think it's the best looking mount other than custom fabricating a dash cutout with an Alpine/Pioneer/etc navigation/DVD/CD player unit.

I'm buying one for my Garmin 350!!!!
I have the nuvi 680, which we move between two cars. I found the windshield mount to require too far of a reach, so purchased the 'portable friction mount' that uses a bean-bag like base with a very grippy (but not sticky at all) material at the bottom. I can then position this on my dash at an easy arm's reach. Here's a link to the base:
