All the audiophiles I know tell me stick with Alpine or Eclipse.
I think I'm leaning towards an Eclipse.

I agree, and I fit in that demographic (ouch, says my wallet!). I'd also add that Clarion makes some great HU's too.

My bucks went with the Eclipse and I have a strong feeling that if more people heard them the headunits would be a lot more popular here. Eclipse can only be installed by factory-certified technicians in authorized dealer shops (no DIY). Why? Because bad service and bad installs suck. Because of this, Eclipse decks come with 3-5 year warranties and mine came with a lifetime anti-theft guarantee. Try that one with Alpine

I listened to a lot of HU including high-end Alpine units and I am VERY happy with my selection and recent purchase of Blaupunkt (Bremen CD72). I suspect I'm going to be even happier once the installation of my Focal 165s and Butler Audio Tube Driver Blue 475s is completed.

can someone direct me to a cda 9835 install thread also the modifry install would help also, i know there were instructions in the market place, but are there any other threads about it with pics.

Ive done a headunit before, but I took a look at the wiring today and it was a bit confusing
