best nav system in $200 area
Title says it. I am driving in more and more areas I don't know since I got the S for meets and things like that and I want a portable Nav device. I just went to TN two weeks ago, got turned around and drove an hour out of the way before stopping for directions.
NO MORE! What's a good one with good battery life and has voice directions.
Thanks guys!
Rich

I've bought one of these for my #1 daughter and one for my sister ..... and they love it ....As for me .... I bought a Nuvi 660 ... the only real difference is screen size..... If I had to do it again I'd go with the 360 .. Its small and it fits in your pocket .... Price at Amazon for the 360 is $179.99
Once you get the 360 .. then all you need is one of these Dash Bracket and Nuvi Ball
I'd have to say Garmin. I work at Radio Shack for the time being (lame I know) and most ppl are all Garmin this Garmin that. I've got my tom tom and love it got no issues with the damn thing. If your looking for it to tell you street names your gonna pay over 200 if you get a Garmin. Most other companies you can get some decent goodies for 200. Comes down to knowing what you wanna do with it, Tell street names, bluetooth, 3d road view, ish like that. Garmin and Tomtom ftw imo.
Garmin > Magellan > Tom Tom > Everyone Else
In that order. Garmin and Magellan were the first US based GPS companies for the public.
Garmin is still designed here in the US but of course is made elsewhere
Tom Tom is designed for use in Europe and the maps are just reflashed for US.
That is why some people experience difficulties on Tom Tom navigation because Tom Tom wasn't designed for this country. (Over the last 2 years though, Tom Tom has improved greatly and im impressed)
on a side not, I sell GPS (tons of brands) when tom tom first came out we had to send all tom tom back, they all had a defect. But again that was years ago.

Thanks guys,
I looked the Garmin Nuvi 360 up and it has all I want and more for under $200. I love the voice command prompts, size of it, and both me and my wife have bluetooth phones, and that being able to call POI directly from the Nuvi is just awesome for that price. I will picking one up soon!
