is the passport 8500 a good for the s2k? also heard cops get pissed off at rdar dectectors and might write oyu a higher ticket and wont be leaniant. is this true?

 

I think the Valentine V1 detector is the best. It also has remote mount capabilities, so nobody knows that you have one.

 

the 8500 and the V1 seem to be about the same as far as detection power

the V1 gives you arrows on the display that tell you which direction the radar is coming from

as far as I know, the V1 is the only detector that has that feature; to some people, thats worth the extra 100-150 bucks over the 8500

what do cops do when they see your detector? pissed off?

 

V1 is probably the best.

unless of course you're using the ZR3 laser jammer with the passport 8500.

 

Cops hate them. I got way more tickets when I had my V1.

 

personally i think if you take the time to look at the arrows.... you got yourslef a ticket already. when you hear K or KA i know to slow down doesnt matter where the cop is just hit the brakes. but nonetheless both awesome detectors. i got my x50 for $200 flat. i dunno about you older guys but i had a friend who worked for best buy and they get wholesale discount. also i like the blue lights

 

When I used a detector, I had 2 speeding tickets, no warnings.
After I stopped using a detector, 0 tickets and 3 warnings.

Go figure
