I've been looking for a similar solution, and was close to getting the proclip but holy hell $80!

I kept searching out of desperation and found this cheaper alternative: http://www.diceelectronics.com/g2-cradle

Anyone try that? It has the pass through as well.

I use the Modifry bracket and the Pro-Clip iPhone mount and it's a solid combination. The Modifry is stable, almost zero vibration and the mount holds the phone snug. It can be rotated 360 degrees and it stays put and the phone doesn't fall out (or even budge at all).

I'm wondering if there are any other kind of brackets that work with the nuvi ball from modifry. Apparently ram-mount says their ball is a different size than the garmin one.

Arkon and ram-mount both make one. I'm just debating which one to buy.

Here's another mount available at Modifry that may be easier to install than the one up by the gauge cluster:

Do they make a mount for the iphone that is cased in the otterbox?? Because I never plan on taking it out.. otterbox is worth the money for those who don't have it!!
For the Otterbox, buy an extra case clip from Otterbox, then dismantle the case clip, drill a couple of holes in it, and mount to Modifry mount. I built a mount for my wife's iPhone in her Fit using this method, and she is really happy with it. The phone sits right to the left of the steering wheel in the Fit, so she can see the screen to see who is calling.
