I had some new speakers put in the doors (not the tweets) and now my door rattles a little near the top of the door where it closes. It doesn't do it on its own, only when the bass is kicking. Any thoughts on how to best eliminate the rattle? I'd love to be able to point to something the shop did when they put the new speakers in but I'm not sure if that's the case.

 

I had this problem. What you are actually hearing is the plastic water liner (underneath the interior door panel) vibrating. By judicious use of duct tape in strategic places, it was easy to eliminate.

 

Cool. Duct tape...MacGyver's magic fix for everything! Some bored weekend day I'll peel the door panel off and attack with a vengeance!

 

Take the door panel off, first, and see if the noise continues. If it does, tape the liner, if not, well...keep looking.

While I have your attention, I have this problem. I was trying to make a spy plane out of some duct tape, cardboard and leftover carbon fiber. Any suggestions?

 

Can you tell me what speakers you had installed ?
I am looking for replacement speakers for my 02.

 

Don't forget hair pins and the spring from a Bic pen...you need an engine, don't you?!
