Anyone get their hands on these yet? I'm wondering if the acoustic tuning feature (DSP compensation for various interiors) might not work wonders for our top-down situation. Or is it a bunch-o-hype?

Pen,

I have the SF, but I am not an audiophile so take my opinions for what they are worth.

The automatic EQ seems to work pretty well. I have it set for top up w/driver, top down w/driver, top down w/driver & passenger. It was a little low on the bass side for all three of these configurations, but I adjusted it with a few seconds of effort.

My favorite feature is the DNC (dynamic noise covering) which raises and lowers volumes based on cabin noise. The FM reception is also excellent; my favorite station broadcasts on 2 frequencies, neither of which are nearby. I used to have to constantly switch between them to get a good signal, but the SF brings it in with no switching at all.

It also has the sensor for the remote on its own external wire. This means that the PAC LED can be hidden inside the dash, instead of having to stick out of the radio cover door.

I still haven't been able to get the CD to skip.

Tanqueray (or anyone else with one of these),

I'm thinking of getting the Blaupunkt San Francisco or Munchen, and I found this old post of yours. I hope you don't mind a few questions.

Are you still happy with the San Francisco? How well does it work with the PAC adapter? Does the face fold down? If so, is it pretty solid, or does it wiggle when you press on buttons?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks,

Ted

Hi Tedster,

I have a 2004 S2000 and I am also looking at replacing the factory head unit. How did your installation go? Do you have working steering mount controls(DCI) working? I have a iPhone 5 that I will be hooking up to the unit, do you have similar experience? Please let me know.

Thanks

Haha, I know man, but I thought I would ask anyway. The only head unit with a decent interface is Blaupunkt. When I look at the other ones - sony, pioneer, etc, the dizzying array of buttons make me want to puke. The modifry DCE adapter doesn't show to be compatible with Blaupunkt, so I am trying to bug as many people as I can to get an answer.

Let me know if it worked out for you bro.

Thx
