Default Blitzsafe cable for Alpine CHM-S630

Does anyone know where I can order the Blitzsafe cable for the Alpine CHM-S630 on line? I want to install the changer with my stock 2002 HU. I've been to my local Circuit City and Best Buy and was told that they don't carry it anymore. Further, I was told that the Alpine unit is being discontinued. That may explain why the Alpine is such a good deal now on line.

In any event, please let me know where on line I can order the cable.

Thanks.

Jay

Thanks. I checked out a few of the sites, I think I have to phone them to find out if they can get the specific cable.

I have been at the blitzsafe website and know which one I need.

a company called Peripheral also makes the adapter you mention. i just bought one from Crutchfield for $50. i found a few places online that had either the Peripheral or Blitzsafe for between $50 and $60....since the Crutchfield HQ is in my town (and a store with outlet department), i just got it there to avoid shipping charges.

yeah - mine is the peripheral one. i don't think it is much different from the blitzsafe one, really. aside from having a little trouble getting the wires and such to fit behind the stereo (i also have the lucid adapter for rear speakers), it was just a matter of plugging it in. i mounted my changer above the gas tank to the left of the spare, so it is secure and doesn't take up any space. i cut a little access door in the trunk liner to change cartridges, and aside from a knob to open and close the door, you can't even tell i did anything. sorry, no pics yet.

i was bothered that the adapter was so expensive, and i actually did a fair amount of research prior to buying it to see if there was a way to get around having it. in my 95 accord, i added an alpine changer to the factory deck many years ago....and at the time, the alpine-to-honda adapter was $40 at circuit city. i didn't know any better then (and didn't have the wealth of internet information), but that adapter simply switched two pins....DOH! if i had only known back then. anyway, i was hoping there was an easy way to adapt the alpine changer to the newer honda factory decks, but the interface is a bit more involved. i think the m-bus control is the same, but pin 1 of the molex connector on the factory decks is called "Audio Common" which must be some protocol for letting the deck know what devices are connected. inside of the peripheral (and blitzsafe too, i assume) is a PCB with some kind of chip on it. considering i got the cd changer really cheap, i guess it wasn't so bad to have to pay that for the adapter....i love having the changer.

rwr4a directed me to Crutchfield for a Periperal cable for $49.95. Not cheap but better then the $77 I saw the Blitzsafe for. Still a lot of money for a part that should be $10.

How do you like the Alpine changer. I'm expecting mine tomorrow and hope to install it Sunday. I bought it from a shop in Brooklyn, NY for $179. I think that's a good price.

I know of the shop so I'm not too afraid of buying from them. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks.
