Default Alpine Blackbird unit

I have a 6.5" Alpine screen (TME-m770) and have been thinking about getting the Blackbird unit, but have not been able to find if they are compatible.

Does anyone know?

Any other comments on the Blackbird would be helpful.

Thanks,
Paul

The Alpine Blackbird is a crappy GPS unit. Don't buy that one.

Why do you say that? Did you own one and try it out?

The blackbird is NOT crappy. Its not the best on the go navi, but is certainly isnt crappy. Out of 10, I would give it a 7.

And to answer your question, no, they are no compatible.

I have a friend that has one which I've used many times, and pretty much the reviews out there on it aren't good at all. You're much better off buying a Nuvi.

That is true. The nuvi is better than the Alpine.

actually the alpine is very good, just a little slow, but with the update disc the released it is much better. I sell gps everyday at work (tomtom, garmin, pioneer, etc) and the blackbird is in the middle. i have the alpine 310 and with the dock it is amazing!

Thanks for the replies. I was only looking to get one if it was compatable with my Alpine Touchscreen. I don't know much about Nav units yet. Can anyone tell me if the Garmin or Nuvi have video output so I can at least view the route on my Touchscreen.
