Bose RSX Sub
Hello everyone,
Getting a bose RSX sub, going to add it to my alpine deck.
I looked and searched and came up with various answers. Is there a final answer to all the wiring and thump issues that are seen when running this sub.
Any help would be appreciated.

In my own experience, I lived with the on/off thumping between tracks and you get used to it. I have since used a separate 200W power amp to it and after adjusting the gain find that as a bass enclosure it is an excellent choice because it gives a great hit, you don't lose any trunk space and you get to keep your spare.
I would forego hacking up the wiring to it and just run a 14g wire to the speaker from a separate amp which is easier and gives you a better result in the end.

thanks Thetz99,
I may look into adding an amp to it. Just trying to figure out what is the proper way to wire it if I am not going to use an amp.
Any other input from the board would be appreciated

Thanks, Rduff.
Those are of great help. Did you notice a improvment in the sound of the sub having it powered by an external amp?

the sub was not powered by the amp. i merely took the line level goin into the amp and wired it to the imput of the rsx sub's amp, just for signal. THe amp is only powering the door speakers. I doubt you'd get much more sound quality out of a separate amp though. Maybe more volume, thats it.
