Default bought an Alpine CDA 9855 w/ ipod adapter

hello..
I just installed an Alpine CDA 9855 with the Alpine ipod adapter.
I am very impressed with this head unit.
I've had me stock HU since 2002 and I cannot believe how good
this HU sounds..
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new HU.

Yeah but doesn't it suck scrolling through albums? I have the KCA-420i and it's cool that it charges it and provides generally good features, but it does leave some things to be desired. It is faster for me to disconnect the iPod and select a track than scrolling through 100-200 albums. I just have to sit there and keep spinning the knob for minutes while I'm driving to get to the middle of the alphabet. Not cool.

Complain complain complain.... geeesh

If it bugs you so much why even use it? Why not switch to a different HU and a different adapter.

I have the cda-9835 and the 420 adapter and I love it.

It's OK except for navigating a large number of albums, and there are other reasons I got the Alpine HU. But I don't know of a better option.

Yes, I need to make more. It also seems like sometimes it doesn't go into playlist selection mode though and instead goes to album selection. Could be me but, I think it's a bug...

so far I'm really impressed.. the glide-touch is cool IMO.. with a big ipod library this HU makes it so much easier to use than trying to play with the ipod while you are driving.. the sounds is great.. I'm running Infinity 6.5's in front and rear speakers from Lucid.. no amp or subwoofer yet but the sound is great.. !!

Dude I was looking at the glide touch setup the other day... and well I'm fairly sure I would be throwing that HU out if I had that stupid thing. Drove me nuts!
