How does the 9855 display look when the top is down. I read a review or two on crutchfield that said the dispaly gets washed out in direct sunlight. How does it look during the day?

What is the differnce between Alpine 420i and 410c for ipod control?

The 420i is the ipod adapter - controls your ipod through your headunit

The 410c (discontinued) is the vehicle verstile link - has two cd changer inputs and 2 aux inputs connecting to your headunit via AiNet.

I run the 410c with my ipod, xm and a 6 disc changer

playlists are the key to the 420i. they're fun to make anyway.
