Thanks. The more I read up on the subject, the more daunting the task seems. However, I did find these:

http://www.rentron.com/clock-sch.htm
http://www.rentron.com/at89c205.htm

It says that the LCD would have to be put into 4bit mode as opposed to its original 8 due to lack of IO ports. What does that mean in English? What is implication of 4bit versus 8bit? I could very easily purchase a controller with more IO ports but I wouldn't know how to hook it up, nor would I have the slightest idea how to change the code. Help?

Dude...for the money you are spending, get a Rolex and have John mold it into your dash.

That's an option. I'm interested in how its done more than anything else. However, if I find a car that has a digital clock in it that looks decent I'll be buying that instead of going through this process. I don't want a cheap looking one that'll take away from the Gauge-Tech display and the Defi Link Display. It would preferably be digital and blue like the rest of my dash. Hmmm...

4 bit mode means you use four wires to communicate, 8 bits is eight wires. Oversimplified.

Why not disect one of these and put in the dash:

EDIT: Slip on the spelling there. Hopefully not Freudian...

Haha I wouldn't be able to tell the time fast enough... I am thinking about this though:

I just need to think of a clever way to install it.
