Lightbulb Butler Amps

Still in the midst of building my system and I need some amp advice =/
Right now I have a nakamichi in-dv7, focal 165k3p UV component (on order) and I am looking to power them with a Butler TBD-475. Only issue is; since its a tube driven amp..how hot will it run, how often will the tubes need replacement, how much are replacement tubes... Sorry for all the noob questions but I wanna do this right. thanks!

The real question is:
Why are you considering a tubed amp in an S2000? You'll never see the benefit from the sound quality... ever... even if you had a hardtop...

Also how do you plan on installing that HU in an S2000... you know they don't fit right? Don't get me wrong... nice unit... but its not going to fit the in the stock S2000 hu location. You could cut it into the dash but I've seen it done, and it never looks right.

As far as the amp...honestly I dont know much about audio but I do have a background in electronics and calibration. Based on the specs I was trying to match a nice amp to a nice set of speakers.
On the nakamichi...The shop I am speaking with said they could mount it in the dash and make a recessed bezel. I do have the nakamichi up on ebay and I would rather go with a single DIN or flush mount double din HU (like the pioneer AVIC-Z1 or D-1) but unless someone buys it I may be stuck with it for a bit.

LMAO Well put!!! The thing is...I doubt I would pay $800 for an amp that would only power my component speakers but if I can get said amp for $400 (from a friend whos parting out his car) is it still a waste of cash?

You can buy it and resell it

You can use it but I wouldn't.

Same thing. WAAAAAY overkill for the s2000. You simply wont hear the benefit. Besides, those amps are made for speakers in the $1000+ range, and again, are a waste in our cars.

You dont need anything past a B level amp in the s2k. Alphasonik, Hifonics, whatever. The s2000 needs power more than SQ.
