Default C/R Radio Retrofit

Recently purchased a C/R with no A/C and radio - meaning no headunit and no speakers. Considering retrofitting the radio. Questions:

(1) I'm assuming there is no wiring harness?
(2) If there is no harness, what's the easiest power source to tap into? Do I need to run a power lead to the battery itself?
(3) What about antenna connection?

All advice welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to go out on a limb here but I'd be willing to bet that the C/R is prewired with a radio harness, speaker wires and an antenna cable. The C/R has the radio as an option which is probably installed at the dealer if the customer wants one; having it pre-wired makes it easier for the dealers to install. If you are going to buy OEM equipment, it should just plug right in! Make sure you also purchase the factory radio mounting brackets.

P.S. Sorry if this is incorrect but I'd be be willing to bet it's true...

Considering that LHD cars have the mounting brackets for the JDM in-dash navigation on the back of the dash when it was never an option, it's a pretty good bet that they pre-wired *all* of the C/Rs for a radio. Does anybody know if the radio wiring harness is tied into any of the other electrical components in the dash?

Also, is there an antenna on the car?

Hmmm... That's a good question. Do C/R's with no radios have an antenna mast? I'm sure the cable is in there.

Do C/Rs *with* a radio have an antenna mast? I haven't been able to find one in any of the pictures, but I don't know if they've all been the non-radio model or not.

Thanks for all the replies. I may try to pull off the "radio" cover tomorrow to see what I can find.

I pulled off the radio panel and the door panel (to check what wires are leading into the speaker area). Attached are pictures of what I found. Input appreciated.

I'm pretty sure those wires are left out of the wiring harness. I think I read something about it in the CR owners thread in the main s2000 talk section
