Default Cannot Program 08E51-S0X-1M0G1 Transmitter Remote!!!!

Hi Everyone:

I have been following the directions for programming an additional remote for my 2006 AP2 S2000.

Done the dance with the ON/OFF cycling with the ignition key.

I have checked that the existing remote responds inside the car, so I don't think I am pointing the new unprogrammed remote in the wrong direction.

First, where exactly is the transmitter behind the driver dash?

Second, my remote has an "option" button not a trunk release button.

Any thoughts anyone???? It would really help.

Thank you much!

With no trunk icon I'm guessing it's the wrong remote. Here's the only readable sticker on my '06 remote (the other is unreadable):

To expand on Chuck's answer:
there are different remotes depending on whether the car has the OEM accessory alarm or not.
The non-alarm key fob communicates directly with the keyless entry controller. When the dealer
installs the accessory alarm, new key fobs are supplied which communicate with the alarm controller,
which in turn sends lock/unlock commands via wire to the keyless entry unit.
My guess is the new key fob is an alarm fob, but you don't have an alarm.
