Default Trunk release via factory remote

Hey guys,

I know its possible, but for some reason my remote doesnt work. On my remote, it has the word Option on it, where the trunk release button is. I have a 2002. I know that the remotes are the same as CRVs. I bought the car from the original owner, and it came with both remotes looking the same. Could it be that the remote was provided from the dealer is not originally for the S2000? Doors lock and unlock fine. But want to be able to use the trunk release. any way of programming it??

Thanks,
Khuezee

Looks like you got the wrong replacement remote. "Option" would be a remote designed for the Dealer Installed Honda security System. It implies that there is some hookup via an auxillary input somewhere on the Alarm Control Module. You can always buy the proper S2000 remote for your specific model year. Programming the remotes is easy.

The option button is the truck release. Try holding it down for like 5 seconds.

This remote is the remote that comes with the security system. My original remote had the trunk symbol, but the security remote replaces it with the option button. It works the same as my original remote.

Just behind your emergency brake handle do you have a little red light? If so, you not only have the remote that goes with the security system, but you infact also have an OEM security system!!

I was surprised to find I had the same thing on an S2000 I bought over the internet!

All I needed was to add remotes to my receiver. I got new units for about 1/3 dealer price for my 00 S2000 & 00 Accord -

They seem to have remotes & instructions for everything on their site.
