Well I finished an install of my JLw3V2 in the tool storage area. Pushin it with a JL 250/1 monoblock amp. I also ran polk audio 6 1/2" in the doors and lucid panels with mtx 5 1/4" in the rear pushed by a JL 300/4. Sounds great with top down and parked. Have trouble with rattle with top up (I have gotten info to fix that) but while moving, the exhaust drowns out all bass. I dont know. Just tired after install I guess but I believe I will just scrap the sub and go with running the insides only.

Spugen exhaust at 6th gear 4800rmp deceling, I have a small Db meter it says

111db Aaaaa

108db in vtec at 8k

all test done with Radio off

 

I have an invidia, which is one of the loudest exhausts. I also have a 10" Alphasonik 800 series sub from Darkknight1999 and I can hear it fine as long as I am not in Vtec. Maybe you need more PWR

 

I have an invidia plus test pipe and can feel my bass all the time. I think you need more power.

 

That sucks. How much do you like that exhaust? I am running the Fujitsubo exhaust with a Berk Testpipe. No problems hearing the bass. I have the same sub as you, and I am using channels 3+4 (bridged) of my JL 450/4 amp to run it.

 

I love mine! Yeah, it's loud as hell. But thats how I like it. Plus I love the look.

 

Sounds like your box is EXTREMELY inefficient. Maybe you are leaking? If not, you need more powah!
