yea, that was clearly described on the amp, its like + from 1, - from 2, + from 3 and - from 4, but it had "bridged" and big arrows on it, so i'm 100% that part is correct, lol

ok got the amp tuned, the xovers were set to full instead of low, and a bunch of other things were jacked up (frequencies, the voltage, stuff like that), subs are acting the way I was thinking they should now, thanks again for all the help!

Hey Sputniks,

Have you purchased any high-current/more powerful alternators before?

Do you know a good place to source them from?

Any input on a type of battery to use? I had a Optima Yellow in an older car, but it seems the quality of the Optima Yellows in the s2000 size was lacking...

Currently I have an Optima Yellowtop in my S. Haven't had any problems with it - but they appear to be hit or miss.

The truck has a DEKA intimidator series (same as yellowtop, just less expensive).

I've heard good things about Kinetic and Powermaster batteries as well.

According to Jacob, owner of Sundown, any AGM battery should be good.

As far as alternators go, I haven't had any rewound. It's on my list of to-dos, but not high enough for me to have done much research. Let me see what I can find for you

looks like DEKA doesn't make a 51 size...yellow top is only $150, so i'll probably just go that route...

damn....over $200...almost twice the reserve capacity and weighs 10 lbs more...i don't know that i would necessarily need all that if i get a better alternator, plus it looks like the terminals may be a little harder to access...i had good luck with the yellow top before, i'll probably go that route again

I think you'll be fine with the yellowtop. If not, you can always upgrade to the Powermaster at a later date
