Default Carputer help

I finally worked up enough $ to do some major work on my stock 06. I would like to start with a navigation system that's touchscreen in the usual JDM screen area. It would be running off of a mini lap top that I would secure to the "glove compartment" area in front of the passenger. So I have a few questions, and I need somewhat detailed answers because I definitely don't want to screw up anything.

1. Which type of screen would complete this project?
2. What OS or program (if OS is windows) would I use to have all the car functions like an idrive.
3. Would this program also allow me to control my music on the screen (i.e. select exact song from whichever folder) if I were to put a mass amount of music on the computer?
4. What would I need to do to get this system's sound integrated into my car speakers?
note: Since the screen is probably powered by the car, it would just switch off when I turn off the car and the laptop will still be running fine.
5. What kind of satellite navigation would this system need to use to not only access a GPS system for directions, but also plain old internet?

Thanks.

Just an idea....

I think you need to purchase through a dealer. I think it comes in an all-in-one package with the hardware and software...I think its a bit pricey, though.

Check out mp3car.com

They have tons of information and the streetdeck program seems to be pretty nice if you don't want to go with one of the free options (for more advanced users that don't mind tweaking the system to get it just right).
