Changing to Alpine head unit
Hi I have a 2 week old 2003 S2000, black. I want to know how hard it is to replace the head unit. I am reluctant to plunge in and screw up the appeariance until I know. the head unit will be an Alpine 7894. If this is not to difficule I will do it myself, The changer the Alpine CHA-S634 although and MP3 changer may be considered an overkill.
I may later add MX satellite radio, no rush here. Any photos of the removial points for the material around the radio would be appreciated.

I have the same HU. Do a search, I think northen Texas community has a great pics of all the electronic installs. Also check our sponsor Lucid Automotives, he has similar pics.
Good luck. Is your S blk/blk or blk/red? Mine's blk/red MY2002. If it's blk/red, don't forget to change your display to the blue kit to match your blue HU.

The unit is great, our new dash controller (for sale later this month) will work with Alpines. One thing to be mindful of is you will have to connect a power line directly to the battery. Some people shortcut this and just connect at the stock interface but its best to follow the correct installation procedure
