There is also a six disc but it is not available in Aus and I was already set up for the larger format changer.

I have an Alpine Ai-Net head unit (CDA 7876RB) and got the Ai-Net 6 disc stacker which I mounted in the factory position for my 2001 S2000 (in the 'secret compartment' between the seats). Aparently there is a way to get the OEM stacker to work with an Alpine M-BUS head unit, but most of these units are fairly basic/entry level, so I went an replaced the lot.

WHere did you buy your HU and changer from? Did you go to someone in Melbourne?

Any limitations to the dash controls after your modification? Or do they work as per factory?

Hi demonderrick,

please search the forum for some older postings, I remember one that even listed company names and tel. numbers of british companies that sell straight to the US.

I am pretty sure that some of those postings actually report the adaptor to work with US Apline head units. As far as I understand, any Apline model that offers connectivity to Alpine "Steeringwheel Remote Interfaces and Cables" (Apline terminology) should work with the Alpine adaptor.

I bought the headunit and stacker (in addition to a few other bits and pieces )from Gary's Car Radio - I have bought a lot of car audio equipment there in the past so went back there this time as they usually give me a good deal.

The dash controls work as they did when I had the factory headunit and stacker in the car - there is absolutely no difference. I was wrapped to be able to get such a 'plug in' solution as it seems that there is no other manufacturer (ie Alpine, Pioneer etc) produced products which overcome this problem.

I did look into it...
but, the only result I found is it will work only with Alpine unit that has screen...!!
but, I am looking at the 1 din head unit instead of 1.5 din...
