Clarion EQ install pics
Hi guys,
I'm kinda happy with how this turned out so I wanted to share...
I needed an EQ because my tweeters from the Infinity REF6030CS were ripping my head off, even with 9dB cut on the band 5 of the 5 band EQ in my Kenwood Excelon 994. Except for that, the speakers sound very good, especially given their price.
I started looking at EQs and found this Clarion EQS746 that had great reviews and as you can see by my speaker choice, I'm on a budget.
I mounted it with 3M doube-sided foam trim tape because I don't like drilling or cutting unless I have to. The wires and cables push through the existing vents.
Sound-wise, I think it's great. I am able to dial down the 6K AND 16K that was killing me, nice control over the lows too.

Thanks guys.
I've now spent a couple days and can confirm that it's a perfect spot! It's really easy to adjust it while seated in the driver's seat and you don't need to look at it. Nice little EQ too!

I would assume he tapped them off of the amp since it is most likely mounted in the trunk.
Power goes to a distribution block (a 5 farad cap actually) then to the amps and EQ. Ground is a nearby bolt. Remote is just passed from the amp.
