So I just got an alarm put in my Accord, the 50.7x (pager, remote start, lotta toys)

I'm pretty happy with it and this was my installer's 'audition' -- now that I know he does good work/clean installs I want to give him the S2000 to put a good alarm in it.

Right now I'm between the same I have in my Accord, an the Avantgard 5.1.... Apparently the Avantgard comes with a lot more "security" - we had a long conversation about it having more triggers and being better for securing the car.

But the negative is that it does't have the pager... which I want. I just personally feel that no one pays attention to alarms these days... its on me to go and see whats up if its going off... if i'm in a mall or at a movie or something. Installer says chances are the car'll be gone by the time I get out there anyway if they really wanna steal it so its better to have a more secure alarm

Either option will NOT have remote start.

I dunno... educate me guys... which is better and why? (also if there are better than these two options I'd like to hear about those too)

Lastly, please dont talk me out of an alarm. I know what lojack is, and I know that alarms aren't that big of a deal in that if someone wants to steal the car they will... but I'd rather have the peace of mind that its got SOMETHING.

Any suggestions /thoughts??
