Gettin a system installed....
tryin to run 4 speakers kappa perfects in front, boston acoustics in lucid panels.
also, a 10" W6.
Looking for amps, and i see audiobahn amps are significantly cheaper (atleast on ebay) than jl audio, and have a similar look to them.
Has anyone used these and can verify if they are good quality?
And why are jl audio amps so much more expensive? Are they just a superior product? Any info would help thanks.
p.s.,
If anyone knows a good setup for these speakers please tell me.
Currently im looking at the
audiobahn a4004t model, a 4 channel, 400 watt for speakers
but...i dont know what i should do for the subwoofer
whatever the case, i want to keep the amps the same. Thanks

For the s2000, they are fine. Ive been running mine for almost 4 years, and they havent missed a beat. Their soundquality isnt on the same level as Helix,Audison, etc, but in the s2000, you just cant tell. They are not any worse than JL IMHO, and their service is 100 times better. Just remember one thing, Audiobahn amps are pretty big, so make sure you take lots of measurements before you stuff your car full of amps.

what do you think of this...
For door and rear speakers...
Audiobahn Amp A4004t
50 watts Rms x 4 x 4 ohms
100 watts Rms x 4 x 2 ohms
200 watts Rms x 2 bridged output
4-3-or 2 channel operation
Used for 1 month in real good condition !!!!
For 10" W6 subwoofer
Audiobahn Amp a8002t
RMS POWER RATINGS:
4 Ohms Stereo: 200W x 2
2 Ohms Stereo: 400W x 2
4 Ohms Stereo: 800W x 1
2 Ohms Mono: N/A Class A/B MOSFET Circuitry
Class A/B MOSFET Circuitry
PWM MOSFET Power Supply
Double-Sided Glass Epoxy Circuit Board
THD: 0.02%
S/N Ratio: >100dB (+/- 1dB)
Frequency Response: 10Hz - 40KHz
Variable 18dB Hi-pass Crossover: 50Hz - 750Hz
Variable 18dB Low-pass Crossover: 30Hz - 120Hz
Bass boost @ 45Hz: 0-18db
Subsonic Filter: 20Hz - 50Hz
RCA Throughput Connections
3-way Protection Circuitry: Thermal, Short Circuit and Overload
Cooling Fan
Cobalt Blue Illumination
High Gloss Chrome-Plated Finish
Nickel-Plated Block Terminals
Dimensions: Height: 2 1/8", Width: 11 1/16", Depth:11 7/8"
Is the 8004, big enough for a w6- is 800X1 at 4 ohms good for a sub- isnt it that you want small ohms for a sub and large for speakers? What ohms are best for speakers. The a4004t, is 100 X4 at 2ohms...is this good for speakers? Thanks
Will both of these amps fit in the trunk? Like on the inside wall towards the cabin? Or possibly one on a side wall? Im already getting a custom box that will take up the entire area reserved for the jack and what not....so i cant install anything there. I currently have a small amp underneath my passenger seat that i can remove. Will the smaller audiobahn amp fit under the seat? Probably not huh? Opinions?

I've got an Audiobahn pushing my L5 (can't remember the model off the top of my head) and it hits hard and has a clean sound to it.
I'm going to pick up a matching 4 channel (probably used, my amp is about 3 years old). I've never had a problem with it and would like to keep the amps matching.

I have audiobahn amps and I think I'm going to be sticking with them for awhile. They are ppowerful enough to blow subs, unfortunately, but then you get to get better subs.
