Clutch Pedal Ignition Lock Switch Failure
Simple. Remove the retaining clip and clevis pin from the CMC to the pedal, undo the 2 nuts holding the cmc/pedal assembly to the firewall, unclip both connectors (safety switch / cruise control switch) and the pedal should be free. 10 minute job assuming you don't have a claustrophobic stroke and die in the process, lmao.
but, you are correct, us really old guys have to be careful when the temp 100s wise in Memphis right now are serious.
HAH! Also, I wasn't trying to take a jab at your age. Certain tasks on this car are an endeavor, regardless of age or flexibility. The clutch pedal is one of them....PITA. Like I said, I wish I knew some of these tricks beforehand....life could've been MUCH easier.
