Empeg is cool, but no radio or CD. And way too expensive.

Have a look at the Neo 5100.

I currently have a Neo 35 going into my Sony system.

The Nakamichi M70 and M75 (includes am/fm) has a 6 disc changer built into the head unit. My shop installed the M75 with the PAC mod and got the volume and channel dash controls to work. It sounds great and saves trunk space.

Neo 5100 - Hmm, that looks great, but I have heard that it uses a CD-ROM out of a laptop and probably won't last as long on the road (especially in an S2K). Furthermore I have also heard that the display isn't reverse-backlit like the Empeg, so it's kinda hard to read in a car-environment.

So what about Visteon's in-car MP3 player? - IMO the best you can get but it's downsides are that it's double-DIN size (since my S2K is still on order, does the S2K support double-DIN? I don't think so) and doesn't read ID3 tags (I think). http://www.evisteon.com/b2c/mach_mp3c.htm

I agree on the Empeg price, but it does include a tuner, and 40gb of possible storage space, the ability to plug in to your home system, USB and serial support, and external power!

From the Empeg Website:
The player has a modular tuner interface, for which an FM module is initially available. The FM module includes RDS (Radio Data System) for station naming, auto re-tuning and traffic announcements - RDS stations are commonplace in Europe and steadily increasing in the USA. Because the tuner is modular it is future proof; we can develop modules for DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) and future standards if the demand arises. The modules simply plug in to the modular tuner connector.

SixthGear,

Can you post pictures and/or prices of your upgrade? I've been wondering about the in-dash changer options and a few here have mentioned the MB's are good and have sufficient bass. Also, what shop did you use?

I had the following installed by Constellation in Orange County for $1,300 including labor & tax. Installation quality is high and the service is guaranteed lifetime.
Sorry, no digital camera...no pic.

-Nakamichi M75 w/ built in CD Changer ~$650
-MB Quartz QM 215.03 100W speakers with separate
tweeters ~$275
-Precision Power 200W amplifier (installed behind
passenger seat) $250
-PAC Mod ~$50
