Default Component Front speakers

Are there some good component speakers that will fit a MY02 without having to make a bracket or cutting the speaker baskets?

Also when connecting the anntena wire to the head unit, the anntena wire then goes all the way to back where the amp is?

No, the antenna has a plug that plugs into the back of the new headunit. Its already behind the stock radio.

As for speakers, Almost all speakers short of the $$$ ones will fit. The reason why people cut the speaker baskets is so they can use stock mounting holes, and not have to drill new ones into their door. They are 7 dollars each, and for that price, I rather not drill into my door.

Also, please read the FAQ, you will find a very nice amount of information for your system needs.

Better aftermarket speakers have bigger magnets and therefore usually require cutting the baskets because they are deeper. If you want to use the same mounting points, you'll have to cut the basket. If you cut the baskets, don't forget to get some baffles to protect the speakers from the rain. Also, cut a hole in the baffles so the speakers can breathe.

NFRs2000NYC and littlerocket777,
Thanks for the replies and appreciate the help. As for the amp, I thought I'd seen a picture of an amp (hooked up) with an antenna input but I guess I was mistaken.

Littlerocket777 where can I buy these baffles you're speaking of. I did see a thread here on how to make the spacers.

I'm just about ready to take this project on but I'm freaked out and don't want to fry something. I'm good at some wrenching but haven't played too much with the electrical.

Wish me luck!

In theory, the water on your window, (the little droplets) stay on the window. Thus, when you roll your window down, they can drip on the speaker. However, I dont have any baffles and have never had any problems.

Same here. I've *never* used baffles on any of my cars and I live in Florida, with near daily rain in the summer, hurricanes, etc.. never had a problem with water.
