Component speaker distortion question.

making sure the amp's + and - are correctly matched to the speakers' + and -.

??? would the speakers even work if they were off? I m pretty positive they are right only because i made sure to use black to - and white to +.

Anyway It seems that my passenger speaker is louder, and my settings are all set equally . I only noiced this when I sat in my passenger seat, it seemd like I couldent hear the driver speaker and the passenger was very loud, and when i sit in the drivers seat it sounds perfect.

if it's louder in the passenger seat, check the balance on both head unit and the amp.

true, maybe the gain is up just a tiny bit on the passenger side.

As for polarity of speakers, if I got these mixed up would the speakers not work (would I know it)? lol.

If speaker wires were crossed you would hear a lot of distortion and buzz. Pretty easy to hear and since you didn't mention anything that sounded this bad, I don't think it's your problem but check anyway.
Besides the imbalance which you will correct, how does your system sound now?

sounds great much much louder iv noticed. It must have been my amp clipping well before my HU. thanks you guys
