Default infinity 6010cs

just installed the components and i dont think they sound as good as they could. they distort when turned up really loud. the tweeters are very bright and i cant seem to hear the mids over the tweeters and my sub. my question is this, is it the settings on my headunit or is it the fact that i dont have an amp running them or what? im very confused because i know they are pretty good speakers.

Try reversing the polarity on one side.

When I fitted mine I had the polarity wrong and they sounded like you have described.

I changed one around and they sounded great.

Was the solution the polarity or the amp (or both). I have that 6000cs speakers (and Alpine 9830 HU) and have the same problem with distortion when I turn up the volume...

if you dont have a amp it will distort.
check the polarity first but more likely its the lack of power.

when amped they sounds good
if your running it off a deck your getting like 14-20 rms when it needs somewhere close to 50-75 for it to be decent
