instead of starting a new thread, ill ask in here.

is there a level of aftermarket component speakers that you guys would recommend that would be better than stock 02 speakers, without the use of an amp, just a decent aftermarket headunit? pioneer deh-7600MP specifically.

Check out the infinity reference components. not as demanding as the Kappas and make good sound with relatively lower rms requirements.

I'm running mine off of an alpine deck and they sound great.

what did you do to make it fit? crutchfield doesnt list it as fitting an s2000, of course its no final authority. so what did you do?

spacers?

cut out the speaker baskets. Infinity references weren't too deep either.

I used those small garden twig trimmers to cut through the basket. Not the prettiest but they worked fine. Or you can get those adapters that ricks sells I think?

No spacers needed

btw, howd you mount the tweeters? is the stock metal bracket detachable and reusable?

i recently took out my door panels, but i didnt investigate how it was constructed.

Yes, you can remove the stock pods, simply replace the tweeters, and re-install. Depending on on the size of the tweeter, some dremeling may be needed for proper fit. I believe DK did a write-up on this where he even cut out the factory grill, but just skip that step if you prefer to keep it looking stock.

im running the kappa perfect speakers and 10 in sub, i think everything sounds good- no complaints from me.
