Honda: Find the actual shock sensor unit (usually mounted somewhere under the dash.) There will be an adjusting screw on it somwhere. You will probably need a small flat-head screwdriver. It should take you no more than 1 minute to locate and adjust.
The older remotes and all the FM remotes don't have a silent mode.. the SS remotes do have a silent mode where it vibrates instead..
Also.. the newer shock sensors dont require any type of screw driver.. they have a nice little dial that goes from 0-10..

Alright i'm back with the update. I tried what you suggested funkylemons and the remote still does not make noise. I am seriously thinking it's the internal speaker which has failed. In that case, is there anyway of opening up the remote and replacing the speaker?
