Compustar 2000AS
I have not adjusted the shock sensor. The car alarm itself works fine, its the actual key chain remote transmitter itself which is semi functional. Sorry if I was unclear in the post. I'm going to call Compustar right now and ask them for a price as $180 is just too much. I saw a flyer for the 2WFMA alarm for $277. Thanks again!

Yeah unfortunately the warranty is probably expired. I purchased my car second hand with the alarm, so who knows how long it's been in there. I don't think the warranty would go beyond 2 years. Correct me if i'm wrong. Plus I don't know who installed the alarm whether it was an authorized dealer or not. So looks like i'm SOL on this one.
Well, it can't hurt to try, right? Go to a local reseller of Compustar and tell them that it doen't work correctly and ask them to look at it. Apologize for not knowing where it was installed, and explain that you like their shop and you are thinking about having a killer audio system installed pretty soon (by them of course) but you are just not sure about getting started before you get the alarm issue resolved. That should be enough to get them to go to bat for you.
Even at that, Compustar is VERY good on these types of things. I dropped my remote and broke. It specifically states that if you drop the remote it could break and would not be covered. They covered it anyway, and I did tell them it was dropped.

Hey.. I sell and install Compustars
I'm not sure exactly what your problem is..
If your alarm is set off then your pager will let you know.. period.. it doesn't check on the car every 3 seconds or whatever.. the pager is always listening for the signal from your alarm that it's going off..
You're kinda far away.. if you want to send me the remote I can see if I can get it covered under warranty.. what color is the remote? if its white or blue its the FM.. I get them and sell them for $80.. They are expensive and I already feel bad enough when the customer is slapping himself when he finds out his dumb mistake cost him almost $100.. so I don't try and make a dime off them... If it's black its the SS model.. if you are having trouble with range with the FM upgrade to the SS and enjoy 4x the range.. anywho the SS remotes go for maybe $100-120.. they are a bit bigger and vibrate too..
edit: chances are if the remote doesnt have like a huge crack across it, and its not full of water.. meaning it looks free from extreme abuse.. it can probably be replaced..
Let me know if you want help..

Thanks everyone for your input on the matter. Ruexp67, if I am unable to locate a new remote, I might just take your advice and make up a story to the shops.
Funkylemons, I guess I should explain the situation to you. The problems lies in the remote transmitter of the keyfob. All the functions of the remote work fine such as arming and disarming the alarm, unlocking the rear trunk, etc. Even when you tap on the glass to page, it works. My question is when the alarm goes off or if someone is paging, should the keyfob make audible noises like beep to notify you? Right now as it stands, when my alarm goes off or when you tap on the glass to page, all the keyfob does is blink. I am wondering if this is how the keyfob works. There are no cracks, just scratches on the keyfob. I would be happy to send you a photo of the keyfob Funkylemons, just provide me with your email address as I don't know how to host photos. Thanks again to all!
