Default Cool find at Lowes Home Improvement.....

We've all done it. You trying to remove a panel and the plastic fastener button cracks in half, you know the ones. I had two in the trunk and one behind my drivers seat. So I'm at Lowes looking for something I'm sure they wouldn't have (they did by the way)......when I happen down th hardware isle in search of a Grade 8 bolt. They store them in these drawers. While searching a see "Fastener, Interior Automotive). Being the anal shopper I am I had to open the drawer. I died........in this drawer was every possible plastic button fastener you can imagine. Straight button all sizes.....push button center all sizes....black and grey. So if like I you have one of those busted plastic clips....go to Lowes.

P.S. You can get 5- 2 packs for the price of one fastener at Honda service.

You aren't kidding... most Honda dealers charge $3 - $4 per fastener!! I bet the profit from those fasteners alone puts the dealership owner's kids through college...

Thanks for the tip Utah! Here's another one -

In order to prevent breaking those plastic clips in the first place, use a special tool designed to pop them off with less chance of damage. It looks like a screwdriver with a slightly bent shaft. The blade is wide and slotted in the middle to slide under the plastic button and around the plastic stud. Then, just pry down and pop the button off.

I found mine at a Discount Auto Parts store for a few bucks.

If you have them in your area, Pep Boys has a good assortment of automotive trim fasteners too.
