Default Removing start button

I've got the audio panel off and disconnected, but I can't figure out how the start button barrel comes out. On the barrel there is a copper looking tab that looks like is should be pressed, and the barrel would slide out, but it won't budge. I also read somewhere that they screw out, but I don't see how they can.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks,
Simon

Thanks, I've tried that but with no luck.
I didn't want to put too much force on it without knowing exactly how it comes out.

Any other ideas ?

Push the clip or clips on the back and push it forward. I can't remember if it's a clip or two. Regardless, don't apply force if it's not moving. I remembered it pushed right out once the clip(s) are pressed.

No joy pushing the tab in.
Does the outer (front) piece of the panel need to come off first ?
It's got a number of plastic tabs around the edges.

Thanks,
Simon

Got it out - thanks for the assistance.

For anyone else with the same problem, there is a metal lug on the side of the barrel 180d from the press in tab which is hard to see. You need to stick a screw driver down there to pry it over the plastic surround, the push the tab and it will slide out.

Necro post, thanks for this thread I had the same problem getting my start button out while following the Qube's Audio instructions but this clarified what I needed to do.

It is held in by little tabs on each side, lightly pry them back and it'll pop out. Be careful if you take it apart that you put it back 100% the right way, I didn't and my starter engaged everytime I stepped on the clutch
