it is a current model, that's why there is no way that it can be sold over the internet with serial number in tact unless it is from an authorized dealer that has just closed or lost its authorized dealer status. (Al & Ed and Crutchfield being the only exception)

90 day warranty is because there are too many abusers out there, and the seller is not making any money at all already.

gotta pay to get full service the entire car audio industry has been doing very badly since three years ago...

Is it worth buying these for $150 vs. $299 from Crutchfield. How often have there been problems with these sets?

...That explains why I am hearing about different manufacturers going belly up.

As long as the seller is reputable, or is willing to take back the product if it is not authentic, you should have no problems

Focal products are usually pretty solid, most RAs I've seen are due to abuse or bad installations.

 

Don't know about the seller, they didn't return either of my two e-mails so I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
