Default Critique my shop's recommendations:

Head unit: (My choice) Alpine CDA-9833
http://www.allcarstereo.com/product.php?id...duct=560&num=65

Speakers: 5 1/4 Boston Acouston Pro Series. Should I just go 6 1/2? Do they fit fine? $275

Amps:
ARC Audio 900.1D $400
http://www.arcaudio.com/arc/navigation/kar900prodp.htm

ARC Audio KAR 400.2 $300
http://www.arcaudio.com/arc/navigation/kar...ar4002prodp.htm

Sub: Image Dynamic ID series.
IDMAX if I want to spend more money.
IDMAX ~ 350, ID v.3 is only 125 or so.

Any other recommendations? What gauge speaker/power cable do you recommend? Any particular harness?

Thank you very much.

Everything sounds good except......

Yes, the speaker opening in an s2k is 6.5 inches, so get the 6.5 inch speakers.
and those ARC amps. ARC is another marketing company, that advertise their products to make them appear better than they are. You have 700 bucks of mediocre amplifier there, so I would definetely shop something else. What are you looking for in your system???

Also, I personally, do not like Image Dynamics subwoofers. I have heard them a few times, and was not the least bit impressed. Their cone materials wasnt the greatest, and the construction seems, kinda flimsy.
For sub, if you are looking for some bang, try Eclipse.

Ok, for sub, a good 10" is MORE than what you need in an s2000. With that in mind, Id recommend either an Ecliplse 10", or the older Tarantula...the T2 10
http://www.purecaraudio.com/index.asp?Page...ROD&ProdID=1513

These are amazing subs in all aspects, boom, and SQ. the eclipse runs for about 250 and the soundstream is about 185.

The ID sub that I heard was *i think* the IDQ 12" For the money, it sucks, and iif it were a good buy, its mediocre.

As far as amps go.....

whats your budget???

IDQ - Old version it sucks IMO. The newer ID v.3 (just plain ID, model below IDQ) is just as good as the old IDQ. I get a pretty good price on Image Dynamics. I'd compare the IDMAX to a JL w7 except it does better in smaller enclosures.

AMP - I'd like to spend 700-1000. Closer to 700 would be better.

Oh, well this helps a little more......

Anyway, although I guess you are right about the older subs, but I have a strict policy, that I give a manufacturer one chance. There are too many good products out there for second chances. And honestly, there are very few subs out there, (belive me, I heard a lot of em) that can hold a candle to the Soundstreams and the Eclipses.....and almost NONE for the money.

Im still checking right now, but would you prefer one amp, or 2 seperate ones?

1 or 2 subs really does not matter to me, I'm more concerned about putting up adequate power. IF I were to go with the IDMAX (again, I get a great deal), then it can handle 1000 watts.

I was thinking at least 100x2 for the Bostons, what do you think?

Right...but would you rather have 2 AMPS or one?

anyway....I found a great deal for you....and you should feel special because be prepared for half the forum to hate you....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW

This is truly a top of the line amplifier, and very many will envy. The price is also insane.....this is for the bostons....You dont get much better SQ than this.

There is a buy it now of 300 bucks, and only 1 day left, so think fast.
