Dash Controls & Aftermarket HU
Don't buy the PAC!!!! I bought it for my Alpine HU before I heard about Modifry's DCI. You can fix the mute, but it's a major PITA! I'm ripping mine out and replacing it with a DCI as soon as I get enough cash. I've seen the DCI work. It's way better and no delays at all. The PAC is just to fidgitty and bulky.
I used Modifry's DCI when i replaced my 04 head unit with an Alpine 9833. It works great and is very easy to install if you are replacing your HU. To me the best feature and the one I don't think I could get along without any longer is the speed controlled volume control. I think is is a must with a convertible.
Cyclon36:
Are you willing to sell me the PAC-SWIX? Our aftermarket head unit won't work with modifry's DCI, so I was in the market for the PAC solution until we get a better headunit (to use the DCI with) when we move to Europe. We can live with the delay; just not without the dash controls! Saw them for about $45-50 new on pricewatch and e-bay. If you want to sell it, shoot me a PM with your asking price.

I'd say go with the Modifry unit. I've heard some (not so good) things about the PAC unit (granted I haven't experienced using one)
I have Modifry's unit with a Nak CD-400 and install was simple -- even the speed controlled volume feature -- and it works great.

Maybe a little explanation is in order here. I'll take the full hit for the "offensively saracastic" comment.
Priority shipping is a shipping method, not a delivery time. Same goes for any other devliery method. All that tells you is the time it will take (theoretically as there is no guarantee offered with USPS Priority Mail) for your shipment to arrive once it's been shipped.
You placed your order Saturday at 2 PM. We typically don't work, ship or process orders over the weekend so that means the very earliest your order could reasonably have expected to ship would have been Monday. Since it can take 2-3 business days for an order to be processed (clearly spelled out on the web site), it might not have shipped until Wednesday and USPS Priority mail doesn't have a guaranteed delivery schedule; the 2-3 days is an estimate on their part. All those "days" are assumed to be business days as stated in the terms & conditions of our site.
So, you ordered at 2 PM on a Saturday and received it 7 business days later. Slow, maybe a little, but still within the service window we and the USPS publish. As I explained, there was additional delay due to Modifry's and my own travel schedules on the week you placed your order. Modifry has already alluded to that in this thread.
As far as sarcasm goes, my apologies.

I also had a PAC unit and was not satisfied..the delay was very annoying to me
and the mute issue
I have heard only good things about Modifry's DCI unit.
I have a modified DJ Qube unit (works all my toys) and I love it

I have Modifry's DCI.
I gave serious thought to DJ Cubes before I made my purchase. I find that holding the Ch or Mode for the additional functions is very easy. The DCI works flaulessly, and I couldn't be happier.
One of my many Modifry mods..

the yellow jacket is next on the list
