What is everyone using to cut the dash? The cuts look pretty straight. Also how are you keeping th dash pad intact?

I am thinking about doing this to my car but want to know what I am getting into first...

 

I really wish I could tell you what they used to cut it, but I just couldn't watch I'm sure Mikey knows. It seems the most important thing (and probably the most difficult) is getting a bezel made that looks good.

Seriously though....how did you cut the dash? Cut off wheel?

Also How did you deal with the dash pad? I would really appreciate some help.

 

I am sorry I had a shop do the work for me, so I dont know the whole procedure used. I know the vinyl was skinned back first to leave extra to play/stretch it when it needed to go back into place.

 

Here's one of my dash. The Alpine frame is molded into the entire frame.

Thanks, Guys! Yes, things are as good as they can be at this stage(thanks for asking). As far as the remainder of the install, I have stopped the finishing of the trunk after getting some new ideas from some of the installs on this board. I love all the info sharing!
