Installation for the motorization was very difficult. Manual slide operation is easy.
Marcus I like your job alot!
Would you tell me more detail about how to make a manual slide? I don't like people see my car has a screen and also, the place can protect my screen from sun light. Thanks!

I could, but then I might have to kill you.
why marcus? It will the secret between you and me (j/k) In fact, I have a xenarc and a carputer setup. All I need is find a place hiding the screen. I am not sure if the screen gonna fit the air van or not because it is 1.5" thick! Yes, it's alot thicker than yours. My mind is still open at this point because if it is gonna be a tight fit, possibly I might join the dash cut~~~ taking everything apart takes me too long.
Joining the club but not for a monitor in the dash but for some professional recording studio processors. Project is not complete at this point need to make a trim ring that will either be covered in CF or painted to match the car.

The 7 inch xenarc fits in the dash. An 8 inch would be pushing it.
Here is part one of fabrication for the 7 in.
that looks really good and i would like to do somthing similer when i get my s2k, not to be nosty or anything but who did the fiberglass work, and instalation? and how much was it?
Wow there are some nice installs in this thread....
I'm about to do something similiar but with a twist. It seems most of you are going for a highlighted look but aren't u guys afraid of theft?
I want the screen to have a removeable trim cover so that can be pressed over the area to hide the screen when not in use. Not exactly sure how to achieve this just yet but ideally a grill cloth covered trim cover maybe?
Actually Rick, you could make it just like that but on the front in each corner mold in a few mount clips. (the same kind you use on home speaker grilles) Then just make a frame and cover it with vinyl, voila security cover.
